Welcome to 7th Grade!
Teacher: Debbie Love: Bible/Language Arts/Science
My spiritual journey started here at Trinity. I was baptized at age six and confirmed as I entered high school. At fourteen, I responded to an altar call at Calvary Chapel, Downey, because I knew the Lord was speaking to my heart. I made a decision to fully surrender my life to my Savior, Jesus Christ. He has been my refuge and rock throughout every stage of my life.
After high school, I attended UCLA and received a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. I planned to pursue a career in sports medicine. During my college years, I dated and married my husband, Ron, also an alumnus of Trinity. God lead us into worship ministry at Hosanna Chapel in Bellflower. We have participated in ministry there for over 25 years. Along the way, we were blessed with two children, Ashley and Brian. We looked forward to sending them to Trinity as well, and they both attended from kindergarten through eighth grade. Now, all four of us are involved in worship ministry at our church. God is good!
As our children grew, I felt a tug at my heart to pursue a career in teaching. I prayed and asked God to open the doors for me to become a teacher, if that was indeed His will. In 2010, I received my teaching credential from Cal State Long Beach, and soon after was offered a job at Trinity! I accepted a position as the 1st grade teacher, and taught this grade level for three years. Soon, another opportunity came up to teach middle school. I was apprehensive at first, but I knew that the Lord was at work and directing my steps that way. I took the position of 7th grade teacher, and am now in my fourth year of teaching middle school. I continue to look forward to whatever the Lord has for me, and seek to serve Him in every aspect of my life.
My husband and I enjoy travel, and were blessed to visit Israel in 2010. It was an incredible, amazing trip that I will never forget. We also enjoy cruising, and have sailed, along with our kids, to Mexico and the Caribbean various times. This past summer, Ron and I traveled to Europe and visited Italy, France, and Spain to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
My favorite Scripture is Philippians 4:6-7…Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
