Welcome To 5th Grade
Teacher: Carmela Lustre
I grew up with a basic understanding of God and Jesus’ death and resurrection for our sins, and I went to church every Sunday. I also participated in many church activities. However, I did not understand the depth of what God accomplished through Jesus’ death and resurrection. I was missing a personal, deep relationship with God, and really only had surface knowledge of who He is.
In college, I began to seek God, and a minister friend began witnessing to me on a regular basis, teaching me more and more about God—His nature and character, and the great depth of His love for me. He also taught me the concept of grace and unconditional love.
In time, I came to desire this deep relationship with my Creator, and I surrendered my life to God. It has been a long roller coaster ride. I have grown so much in my faith over the years, and marvel every year at how much He continues to teach me.
FAVORITE SCRIPTURE: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6-7
